Jaigarh Fort was built at a height of 50o feet for defence purpose. It is one of the great strategic buildings of medieval India. This fort, has palaces, gardens, a granary, water reservoirs, an armoury and several temples. A huge cannon Jai Ban, which is the largest cannon in the world, is the pride of Jaigarh. This cannon was built by Sawai Jai Singh and has a 20 feet long barrel while the diameter of the wheels is 9 feet. It has never been used in battle-field. The fort was built by Mirza Raja Jai Singh and Sawai Jai Singh II in 1726. It was opened for public in 1983. To reach this place, we use the Jaigarh-Nahargarh Road. The old glory and grandeur is preserved intact here. This fort is a perfect place for film shooting.

A large pond is cut in the centre of hills for storing water which could be used by the Royal family for several months.

When a tourist Hawar by name saw the fort, he exclaimed. 'It is incomparable'. It is believed that the kings of Jaipur kept their treasures here and they still lie hidden in the preciancts of the fort.
